INGREDIENTS
- —6 oz can tomato paste
- —3 oz water
- —1/4 tsp fennel
- —1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- —1 tsp dried oregano
- —1/2 tsp garlic powder
- —1/2 tsp spicy Hungarian paprika
- —1/2 tsp fine sea salt
- —1/2 tsp black pepper
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Throw the fennel, red pepper flakes, oregano, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper into a spice grinder. Grind until fine. Yes, all of them. At the same time.
- 2Add the ground spice mixture to the tomato paste and stir until fully incorporated.
- 3Add water a little at a time until it reaches your desired consistency.
- 4Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, up to 24. The sauce needs this time. You waited this long to make pizza — you can wait one more hour.
NOTES
Do not substitute the Hungarian paprika. We don't make the rules. We just wrote them down.
